Cello

Adam Krzeszowiec graduated with honours from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in 2011, under the tutelageof Prof. Paweł Głombik. He also studied at Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Köln under the guidance of Prof. Frans Helmerson and in Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth in Brussels, under Gary Hoffman.

He has participated in many master classes, where he refined his skills in cooperation with world renowned cellists, such as Heinrich Schiff, Miklós Perényi, Gustav Rivinius, David Geringas and Pieter Wispelwey.

He has been a laureate of international cello competitions in London, Paris, Hradec, Warsaw, Katowice and Dąbrowa Górnicza.

He has also performed as a soloist and chamber musician in the greatest concert halls in Europe, such as the Wigmore Hall in London, Victoria Hall in Geneva, Salle Gaveau in Paris or Piotr Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow.

He has cooperated with artists of world renown, such as, among others, Maria João Pires, Augustin Dumay, Gary Hoffman, Mischa Maisky, Christian Arming and Michel Tabachnik, as well as with world famous orchestras, such as NOSPR (Polish Radio National Symphony Orchestra), Sinfonia Varsovia, Brussels Philharmonic, Orchestre Philharmonic Royal de Liège, Kansai Philharmonic Orchestra, “Arcata” Stuttgart Kammerorchester, Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, AUKSO Chamber Orchestra, Bratislava Chamber Orchestra and Leopolis Chamber Orchestra.

He has participated in prestigious music festivals in Verbier, Sommets Musicaux Festival in Gstaad, International Music Academy-Switzerland in Rolle, Schleswig- Holstein Musik Festival, Casals Festival in Prades, PODIUM Festival and Ensemble Festival in Książ.

Since 2010, he has played in a duo with the pianist Anna Krzeszowiec, with whom he won the Grand Prix at the 11th International Music Competition “Premio Citta di Padova” in Padua (Italy), as well as the first prize at Malta International Music Competition in 2014.

Furthermore, he has been a member of the Polish Cello Quartet since 2011, with whom he regularly performs in concerts and yearly organizes the International Cello Academy in Nysa.

Since 2012, he has been the concertmaster of the cello group of the Polish Radio National Symphony Orchestra in Katowice and a lecturer at the Strings Department at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice.

He was the initiator and organiser of the International Cello Festival taking place regularly at his Alma Mater.

He has received scholarships of the Minister of Culture, the Mayor of the City of Katowice, the Marshall of the Silesian Voivodeship, as well as one within the ”Młoda Polska” programme of the National Centre for Culture. He has also been awarded by the Yamaha Foundation.
