Violin

Michał Kowalczyk, PhD in musical arts, graduated from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice under the tutelage of prof. Janusz Skramlik in 2012. He is a concertmaster of the Silesian Chabmer Orchestra.


Michał Kowalczyk has performed at many prestigious festivals, such as Silesian Music Summer (Poland), “Music on the Heights” International Chamber Music Festival Zakopane (Poland), Krakow Film Music Festival (Poland), Richard Strauss Festival Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany), Ars Cameralis, G.G. Gorczycki Festival (Poland), Musica Polonica Nova Festival Wrocław (Poland) and Silesian Ludwig van Beethoven Festival in Głogówek (Poland). He improved his skills under the supervision of world-renown artists: B. Nizioł, T. Tomaszewski, Sz. Krzeszowiec, Y. Kless, A. Grudzień, M. Moś, M. Szwajger-Kułakowska, E. Bushkov, A. Spiri, J. Tomeš,J. Jakimowicz-Jakowicz and W. Wiłkomirska.


As a soloist, orchestral and chamber musician Michał Kowalczyk performed in Poland, Austria, Czech Republic, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, United Kingdom, France, Spain and India. He cooperates with prominent ensembles, such as Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, AUKSO – Chamber Orchestra, Gorzów Symphony Orchestra, NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra in Wrocław, Symphony Orchestra of India in Mumbai.


Michał Kowalczyk performs with leading musicians: P. Pławner, K. Budnik-Gałązka, B. Koziak, T. Tomaszewski, R. Kwiatkowski, M. Szwajger-Kułakowska, A. Krzeszowiec and W. Fudala.
In 2021 Michał Kowalczyk released a debut album containing Mieczysław Weinberg Sonatas for violin and piano, accompanied by outstanding pianists: Dagmara Niedziela and Mateusz Rożek.
